My 1st NGS Open Garden event…..

2 years in the planning and the day Arrived…. Sunday 28th May 2017 Wow what a day…….279 visitors + 10 children and 2 small dogs! came from all corners of Yorkshire it exceeded my expectations…….after lots of organising, volunteers, a couple of local charity publicity stalls, publicity, 80m of yellow bunting 100 yellow balloons, chairs…

Stunning Spring…….

Spring is really in full swing now and the scent from the spring flowering Viburnum ‘Burkwoodii’ is stunning in the warm spring sunshine as it drifts around my garden. This deciduous shrub flowers on bare branches before leafing up for the summer and later in the year its leaves turn stunning colours in the autumn.…

Spring has almost sprung..

Spring is definitely on it’s way… With the taller daffodils in bud, iris reticulata, crocus & snowdrops & tete tete in full flower, hellebores too. The fruit tree buds are swelling and tips turning green, perennials waking up. I’ve given all the garden a feed of pelleted chicken manure today especially the roses waking from…
