We are well into Autumn now and the garden is definitely going to sleep. Although it has been relatively mild up to now the night frosts can’t be far away. Roses are still hanging on in there and the ‘Birthday girl’ rose has been known to have odd flowers on in January!! The Climbing roses have had a good prune back to a secure framework.
First signs of winter being just around the corner is the Jasmine nudiflorum (Winter Jasmine) which is just starting to flower and the buds developing on the winter flowering honeysuckle & clematis but even the smallest sign of flowers in a winter garden is enjoyed.
Still a few perennials to relocate and generally tidying up to do as the leaves fall so until the ground is frozen and I’d like to get a final mow of the lawns too before Christmas…
